(1) The election officer may appoint polling officers or assistant polling officers to the Nepalese government, provincial government and local level employees, employees of institutions owned or controlled by the Nepalese government or provincial government or run with the grant of the Nepalese government or provincial government, or teachers or employees of universities or community schools. . However, when appointing a polling officer or assistant polling officer, in the case of an employee, he should be appointed in the respective ward of his home address, and in the case of a teacher, he should be appointed not in the respective ward of the place where he works and his home address.
(2) The polling officer and assistant polling officer appointed in accordance with sub-section (1) shall carry out all work related to polling as prescribed by this Act and the rules or orders issued under this Act in a clean, fair and independent manner.
(3) Other duties, duties and rights of polling officers and assistant polling officers shall be as prescribed.
